BEDMINSTER, NEW JERSEY — Did you get involved? This year at Pedal for the Puzzle 2015, we had a blast! Over 150 riders and non-riders came to support this charity event for autism awareness. Thanks to our fantastic donors and sponsors, Pedal for the Puzzle raised $40,000! One hundred percent of the proceeds from Pedal for the Puzzle go to our beneficiaries: the Somerset Hills Learning Institute and Autism New Jersey, two incredible nonprofit organizations that are dedicated to helping individuals with autism and their families. Through this charitable event, the money raised for Somerset Hills Learning Institute paid for the tuition of one student for a year.
The event began with riders setting off on 25 and 40-mile routes, later to be applauded by the non-riders at the venue when they returned. Afterwards, all guests enjoyed a gourmet lunch, courtesy of Chef Kristin of the New York Marriott Marquis, and dessert by Blue Sheep Bake Shop, but we didn’t stop there. As they mingled, guests also enjoyed:
- Wine tasting with Cambridge Wines
- Music by the DJ duo What The Fun
- Fundraising activities with a variety of exciting prizes
- Presentations by the Somerset Hills Learning Institute and Autism NJ
Judy Lenhart, an attendee of Pedal for the Puzzle 2015, expresses her support. “Pedal for the Puzzle is a wonderful way to raise autism awareness and provide continuing support to those living with autism. Kathleen Ohleth, her colleagues, and the riders that come back each year should be commended for their support of such a worthy cause.”
Every year we try to offer the best to our guests. Next year, for our 2016 event, we have plenty of new components to do just that. At Pedal for the Puzzle 2016, you can expect:
- Children’s activities, including a children’s rodeo, bouncy house, and face painting
- A bigger tricky tray and raffle with an even bigger variety of prizes
- Team fundraising, which enables you to raise money in honor of a loved one
